Employment Basics

Working Hours

Working hours depend on business needs, not exceeding 48 hours per week. Each employee has at least one rest day per week. Rice Paddy is closed on Mondays. Minimum one-hour break after five continuous working hours.

Attendance

Leave

At least 13 public holidays per year. Annual leave: 6 paid working days after one year of service.

Up to 30 working days of paid sick leave per year. Medical certificate is required only if sick leave lasts three working days or more. Staff are encouraged to submit a medical certificate from day one (or latest by day two) to show honesty and responsibility.

Rice Paddy closes approximately three full months between May and October. Employment continues during this period. Period is unpaid leave unless otherwise agreed. Closing period replaces annual leave entitlement. Closing dates announced at least 60 days in advance.

Probation Period

All employees are employed under written contracts. Probation period is 30 days with full salary and legal rights. Social Security registration starts from the first working day. If employment is not confirmed, termination may occur without severance pay.


Compensation & Benefits

Salary Payment

Monthly salary is paid according to Phang Nga provincial minimum wage (subject to change). Salary and overtime are paid by bank transfer no later than the 7th day of the following month. Social Security contributions are shared 50/50 between employer and employee.

Overtime

Overtime is paid at 1.5x on normal working days and 2x on public holidays.

Tips / Bonuses (if applicable)

Bonuses & Tips - Tronc system with equal distribution - Daily Sales Bonus (over 10,000 THB) - Position Bonus (lead/manager roles) - Loyalty Bonus after 12 months - Seasonal Bonus (defined separately)

Staff Meals

One free staff meal per working shift. Accounting method: 750 THB food subsidy added and deducted monthly. Other food and beverage items available at 50% staff price.

Reporting procedures

MANDATORY – ZERO DISCRETION POLICY

Secure area immediately, remove glass shards, ensure safety.

Apologetic guest → goodwill, no charge.

Disrespectful guest → damage fee applies.

Damage fees: Regular glass 50 THB, Wine glass 100 THB.

Refusal to pay → police contacted after one calm notice.

Management fully supports staff decisions under this policy.
